Supplemental Courses

Starting with the 2023-24 school year, students, in grades 9 - 12, enrolled into 6 academic face-to-face credits may take one supplement course credit each school year, at a cost of $600*. NOTE: the below course groupings count as one supplemental course:

CVA-PE and CVA-Health I or Health II
CVA-PE and CVA-Safety Education
CVA-PE and CVA-Financial Literacy

Students may choose this option to add a course to their schedule to explore career options, gain experience with virtual instruction, or supplement a course schedule with topics otherwise unavailable in a face-to-face format. Potential virtual students must demonstrate self-motivation, time-management, and communication skills. There are some stipulations to include:

Students must have a GPA of 3.0 in the current and two previous marking periods.

Student course enrollment is a maximum of 7 credits.

Students must meet with their school counselor to discuss expectations and commitment. The school administration has the right, based on professional judgement, to deny a student's enrollment in a virtual enrichment course based on previous academic experiences and/or rigor of a schedule.

To request an enrichment course, students and parents must complete and sign the "CVA Supplemental Course Request" form in PowerSchool.

* Students who qualify for Free or Reduced meals, will have course enrollment fees waived.  Student in families with a financial hardship, should speak to their school counselor or CVA Principal, Mr. Beals, for scholarship opportunities.
